एवं पूर्वैर्गतो मार्गः पितृपैतामहो ध्रुवः ।

तमापन्नः कथं शोचेद्यस्य नास्ति व्यतिक्रमः ॥ ६५६

Evam purvagato margah pitrupaitamaho dhruvah ।

Tamapannah katham shochedyasya nasti vyatikramah ॥

This is the journey of life already performed by

our fathers and grandfathers. When one joins the

journey, which knows no change, how can one complain?

वयसः पतमानस्य स्रोतसो वाऽनिवर्तिनः ।

आत्मा सुखे नियोक्तव्यस्सुखभाजः प्रजाः स्मृताः ॥ ६५७

Vayasah patamanasya srotaso va anivartinah ।

Atma sukhe niyoktavyassukhabhajah prajah smrutah ॥

Like the flow of water which can never return to its source, aged cannot become younger.A man must continue to engage himself in righteous acts that bring him happiness, it is said.

वर्णयन्ति नराभासान् वाणीं लब्ध्वापि ये जनाः । 

लब्ध्वापि कामधेनुं ते लाङ्गले विनियुञ्जते ॥ ६५८

Varnayanti narabhasan vanim labdhvapi ye janah ।

Labdhvapi kamadhenum te langale viniyujjate ॥

People who have the gift of speech use it to describe doings of evil people.

And when they are gifted Kamadhenu, they yoke it to a plow to farm.

कोकिलानां स्वरो रूपं लज्जा रूपं कुलस्त्रियः ।

विद्यायाः पटुता रूपं रूपं मूर्खस्य मौनता ॥ ६५९

Kokilanam svaro rupam lajja rupam kulastriayah ।

Vidyayah patuta rupam rupam murkhasya maunata ॥

Voice is the grace of nightingales, modesty is the grace of noble women,

Knowledge is the grace of the learned, silence is the grace of an idiot.

विनश्यन्ति समस्तानि व्रतानि विनयं विना ।

सरोरुहाणि तिष्ठन्ति सलिलेन विना कुतः ॥ ६६०

Vinashyanti samastani vratani vinayam vina ।

Saroruhani tishtanti salilena vina kutah ॥

All vows get destroyed without humility.
