न गणस्याग्रतो गच्छेत् सिद्धे कार्ये समम्फलम् ।

यदि कार्यविपत्तिः स्याम्मुखस्तत्र हन्यते ॥ 851

 

Na ganasyagrato gachchet siddhe karye samamphalam l

Yadi karyavipattih syammukhastatra hanyate ll

 

Do not be in the front in an active group. When the work is done all get credit.

When the work results in failure, the leader gets blamed.

 

यः स्वपक्षं परित्यज्य परपक्षं विषेवते ।

स स्वपक्षे क्षयं याते पश्चात्तैरेव हन्यते ॥ 852

 

Yah svapaksham parityajya parapksham vishevate l

Sa svapakshe kshayam pashchattaireva hanyate ll

 

One who leaves his own group and joins an opposite goup will cause his

own group to go to ruins but will get killed by members of the other group.

 

न स्थातव्यं न गन्तव्यं क्षणमप्यधमै सह ।

पयॊऽपि शौण्डिनीहस्ते वारुणीप्यभिधीयते ॥ 853

 

Na sthatavyam na gantavyam kshanampyadhamai saha l

Payo api shaundinihaste varunityabhidhiyate ll

 

Do not sit around or move around with a rogue even for a second.

Even milk in the hands of an adultrator gets to be considered liquour.

 

दह्यमानाः सुतीक्ष्णेन नीचाः परयशोऽग्निना ।

अशक्तास्तत्पदं गन्तुं ततो निन्दां प्रकुर्वते ॥ 854

 

Dahyamanah suteekshnena neechah parayasho angina l

Ashaktastatpadam gantum tato nindam prakurvate ll

 

A wicked person burning with jealousy in the fire of another’s success

starts blaming everyone when he cannot achieve such success.

 

वृक्षमूलेऽपि दयिता यत्र तिष्ठति तद्गृहम् ।

प्रासादोऽपि तया हीनो ह्यराण्यसदृशः स्मृतः ॥ 855

 

Vrukshamule api dayita yatra tishtati tadgruham l

Prasado api taya hino hyaranyasadrushah smrutah ll

 

The place where the wife stays even if it is under a tree, is the home.

Without her even a mansion is considered similar to a forest
