all types of cleanliness, financial cleanliness is the best.
One
who is financially clean is cleanest, not who cleans using mud and water.
विद्याया वपुषा वाचा वस्त्रेण विभवेन च ।
विकारै पञ्चभिः युक्तो नरो भवति पूजितः ॥ 857
Vidyaya
vapusha vacha vastrena vibhavena cha l
Vikarai
panchabhih yukto naro bhavati pujitah ll
Education, physique, speech, dress and grandeur
are the five things that make a person respectable.
पापं प्रज्ञा नाशयति क्रियमाणं पुनः पुनः ।
नष्टप्रज्ञः पापमेव नित्यमारभते नरः ॥ 858
Papam
prajna nashayati kriyamanam punah punah l
Nashtaprajnah
papameva nityamarabhate narah ll
A sin ruins the senses of the person committing it.
Man having lost his senses keeps committing sins
everyday.
शुनः पुच्छमिव व्यर्थं जीवितं विद्यया
विना l

गुह्यगोपेन शक्तं न च दंश निवारणे ll 859
Shunah puchchhamiva vyartham
jeevitam vidyaya vina l
Na guhyagopena
shaktam na cha damsha nivarane ll
Life of a person devoid of education is as useless as the
tail of a dog.
It does not cover its backside and is incapable of protecting
from insect bites.
अनादरो विलम्बश्च वैमुख्यं निष्ठुरं वचः ।
पश्चात्तापश्च पञ्चापि दानस्य दूषणानि च ॥ 860
Anadaro vilambashcha
vaimukhyam nishturam vachah l
Pashchatapashcha panchaani
danasya dooshanaani cha ll
Disrespect, delay, averting
the face, harsh and bitter speech
and regret after giving –
these five are the defects of charity.
