Paryatya pruthivim sarvam sthanam pashyami tannahi
Yasminnavyapate bhrata janani janako api va

Having wandered all over the world, I could not find that place
where one could find a brother, mother or father.

Antargatamalo dushtastirthasnanashatairapi

Evil thoughts in the mind of a wicked person cannot be washed away even with a hundred baths in pilgrimage centres, just as liquor in a pot cannot be purified by heating it.

Na heedrusham samvananam trishu lokeshu vidyate
Daya maitri cha bhuteshu danam cha madhura cha vak

One cannot find better qualities in three worlds than these -
compassion, friendship, charity towards all and sweet words.

Pushpe gandham tile tailam kashte agnim payasighrutam
Ikshau gudam tatha dehe pashyatmanam vivekatah

Fragrance in flowers, oil in sesame seeds, fire in wood, ghee in milk,
jaggery in sugarcane are all qualities to perceive like wisdom in the human body.

Bharyaviyogah sujanapavadah runasya shesham krupanasya seva
Daridryakale priyadarshanam cha vinagnina pancha dahanti kayam

Separation from wife, censure by good people, remainder of debt, having to serve a miser, visitors during hardship are five things which burn one’s body without fire.
