राजानं राजपुत्रं वा प्रापयेन्महतीं श्रियम्
॥ ६२१
Eko apyamatyo medhavi

Rajanam rajaputram va

Even a single minister
who is intelligent, brave, capable and
farsighted is able to
lead the king and the prince to glory.
न

Na kevalam yo mahato

Not only the one who
speaks ill of the great
but the one who listens
to it is also sinful.

AntahsaravihInanamupadesho na jayate ।
malayachalasamsarganna venushchandanayate ॥
There is no use advising
a person without inherent qualities. Among
the trees that grow in Malaya
hills a bamboo cannot become Sandalwood.

Na hi khalvanupayena

Without the use of
implements many things cannot be achieved,
A fisherman can catch
fish only with a net made of threads.
एकमापातमधुरमन्यदालोचनामृतम् ॥ ६२५

Music and literature are
like two breasts of Saraswati, Goddess of learning. From one breast flows sweet
music and from the other nectar of thoughtful ideas.
