राजानं राजपुत्रं वा प्रापयेन्महतीं श्रियम् ॥ ६२१

Eko apyamatyo medhavi shuro daksho vichakshanah
Rajanam rajaputram va prapayenmahatim shriyam

Even a single minister who is intelligent, brave, capable and
farsighted is able to lead the king and the prince to glory.

न केवलं यो महतोऽपभाषते ।
शृणोति तस्मादपि यः स पापभाक् ॥ ६२२

Na kevalam yo mahato apabhashate
Shrunoti tasmadapi yah sa papabhak

Not only the one who speaks ill of the great
but the one who listens to it is also sinful.

अन्तःसारविहीतानामुपदेशो न जायते ।
मलयाचलसंसर्गान्न वेणुश्चन्दनायते ॥ ६२३

AntahsaravihInanamupadesho na jayate
malayachalasamsarganna venushchandanayate

There is no use advising a person without inherent qualities. Among
the trees that grow in Malaya hills a bamboo cannot become Sandalwood.

न हि खल्वनुपायेन कश्चिदर्थोऽभिसिद्यति ।
सूत्रजालैर्यथा मत्स्यान् बध्नन्ति जलजीवनः ॥ ६२४

Na hi khalvanupayena kashchidartho abhisidyati
Sutrajalaryatha matsyan badhnanti jalajivanah

Without the use of implements many things cannot be achieved,
A fisherman can catch fish only with a net made of threads.

एकमापातमधुरमन्यदालोचनामृतम् ॥ ६२५

Sangitamapi sahityam sarasvatyah stanadvayam
Ekamapatamadhuramnyadalochanamrutam

Music and literature are like two breasts of Saraswati, Goddess of learning. From one breast flows sweet music and from the other nectar of thoughtful ideas.
