मातरं पितरं चैव
यस्तु कुर्यात् प्रदक्षिणम् ।
प्रदक्षिणीकृता
तेन सप्तद्वीपा वसुन्धरा ॥ ६३६
Mataram pitaram chaiva yastu kuryat
pradakshinam ।
Pradakshinikruta tena saptadvipa Vasundhara
॥
One who circumambulates one’s mother and
father
will be as good as having circumambulated
the whole world.
वज्रादपि
कठोराणि मृदूनि कुसुमादपि ।
लोकोत्तराणं
चेतांसि कः नु विज्ञातुमर्हति ॥ ६३७
Vajradapi katthorani mruduni kusumadapi ।
Lokottaranam chetamnsi kah nu
vijnatumarhati ॥
Harder than a diamond, softer than a
flower,
who can understand the hearts of great
people?
गुणाश्च षड्
मितभुक्तं भजन्ते आरोग्यमायुश्च बलं सुखं च ।
अनाविलं चास्य
भवत्यपथ्यं न चैनमाध्यून इति क्षिपन्ति ॥ ६३८
Gunashcha shad mitabhuktam bhajante
arogyamayushcha balam sukham cha । Anavilam chasya bhavtyapathyam na
cainamadhyuna iti kshipanti ॥
Six qualities adorn one who eats moderately-
good health, long life, strength,
happiness, no risk from eating unhealthy
food and not being called a glutton.
चारान् विचार्य
दैवज्ञैर्वक्तव्यं भूभृतां फलम् ।
गृहाचार
परिज्ञानं तेषामवश्यकं यतः ॥ ६३९
Charan vicharya daivajnairvaktavyam
bhubhrutam phalam ।
Gruhachara parijnanam teshamavashyakam
yathah ॥
Before taking action on the suggestions of
astrologers or orders of kings,
one should consider the outcome of such
actions based on experience, necessity and household practices.
दुःखेन श्लिष्यते भिन्नं
श्लिष्टं दुःखेन भिद्यते ।
भिन्ना श्लिष्टा तु या प्रीतिर्न
सा स्नेहेन वर्तते ॥ ६४०
Dukhena
shlishyate bhinnam shlishtam dukhena bhidyate ।
Bhinna shlishta
tu ya pritirna sa snehena vartate ॥
Sadness embraces separateness, a
union is broken by sadness
Once broken it cannot be
remedied easily by love or friendliness.
