तस्माद्धर्मप्रधानेन भवितव्यं यतात्मना ।

तथा च सर्वभूतेषु वर्तितव्यं यथात्मनि ॥ 921

 

Tasmaddharmapradhanena bhavitavyam yatatmana ।

Tatha cha sarvabhuteshu vartitavyam yathatmani ॥

 

Deeds should be done with Dharma in the soul.

Treat all beings as you would like to be treated.

 

अदेशस्थो हि रिपुणा स्वल्पकेनापि हन्यते ।

ग्राहोऽल्पीयानपि जले गजेन्द्रमपि कर्षति ॥ 922

 

Adeshastho hi ripuṇa svalpakenapi hanyate ।
Graho alpīyanapi jale gajendramapi karshati ॥

 

One out of one’s place is vanquished even by an insignificant foe.

A small crocodile can drag even an elephant under water.

 

सर्वाः सम्पत्तयस्तस्य संतुष्टं यस्य मानसम् ।

उपानदूढपादस्य ननु चर्मास्तृतेव भूः ॥ 923

 

Sarvah sampattyasya santushtam yasya manasam ।

Upanaduddhapadasya nanu charmastruteva bhuh ॥

 

For one with a contented mind, all riches are his. To one wearing

shoes on his feet, the whole earth seems covered with leather.

 

भद्रं भद्रं कृतं मौनं कोकिलैर्जलदागमे ।

दर्दूराः यत्र वक्तारः तत्र मौनं हि शोभते ॥ 924

Bhadram bhadram krutam maunam kokilairjaladagame ।

Dardurah yatra vaktarah tatra maunam hi shobhate ॥

 

At the onset of monsoon, the nightingale remains silent.

When there is cacophony from frogs, silence is better.

 

नास्ति विद्या समं चक्षू नास्ति सत्य समं तप: ।
नास्ति राग समं दु:खम् नास्ति त्याग समं सुखम् ॥ 925

Nasti vidya samam chakhshu nasti satya samam tapah ।

Nasti raga samam dukham nasti tyaga samam sukham ॥

 

There is no vieion equal to knowledge, no penance equal to truth.

There is no sorrow equal to desire, no happiness equal to sacrifice.
