तृणानि भूमिरुदकं वाक् चतुर्थी च सूनृता ।

एतानि तु सतां गेहे नोच्छिद्यन्ते कदाचन ॥ 926

 

Trunani bhumirudakam vak Chaturthi cha sunruta ।

Etani tu satam gehe nocchidyante kadachana ॥

 

Mat, floor, water and fourthly sweet words are never

found wanting in houses of good people.

 

शरणं किं प्रपन्नानि विषवन्मारयन्ति वा ।
न त्यज्यन्ते न भुज्यन्ते कृपणेन धनानि यत् ॥ 927

Sharanam kim prapannaani vishavanmarayanti va ।
Na tyajyante na bhujyante krupanena dhanani yat ॥

A miser does not let go of his money, will not spend it, will not give it away in charity.

Has wealth gotten into him like poison and does not let go until he is dead?

 

एको देव: सर्वभूतेषु गूढ: सर्वव्यापी सर्वभूतान्तरात्मा ।

कर्माध्यक्ष: सर्वभूताधिवास: साक्षी चेता केवलो निर्गुणश्च ॥ 928

Eko devah sarvabhuteshu guddhah sarvavyapi sarvabhutatma ।

Karmadhyakshah sarvabhutadhivasah sakshi cheta kevalo nirgunashcha ॥

 

There is only one God hidden in all beings, omnipresent, in the souls of all,

overseer of all actions, witness to all happenings, aware and devoid of qualities.

 

सन्तोषामृततृप्तानां यत्सुखं शान्तचेतसाम् ।

कुतास्तद्धनलुब्धानामितश्चेतश्च धावताम् ॥ 929

 

Santoshamrutatruptanam shantachetasam ।

Kutastaddhanalubdhanamitashchetashcha dhavatam ॥

 

Where can those who are greedy for wealth run in search to get

the happiness of those who are fully content and with tranquil minds?  

 

सदृशं चेष्टते स्वस्याः प्रकृतेर्ज्ञानवानपि ।

प्रकृतिं यान्ति भूतानि निग्रहः किं करिष्यति ॥ 930

 

Sadrusham cheshtate svasyah prakruterjnanavanapi ।

Prakrutim yanti bhutani nigrahah kim karishyati ॥

 

Even the man of knowledge acts as per his own nature. Beings

follow nature. What can restraint against nature do?
