देहिनोऽस्मिन्यथा
देहे कौमारं यौवनं जरा ।
तथा
देहान्तरप्राप्तिर्धीरस्तत्र न मुह्यति ॥ ५६६

tatha
dehantarapraptirdhIrastatra na muhyati ॥
One sees one’s body go
through stages like childhood, youth and old age and
then on to death and a
new body. The brave one accepts this and does not grieve.
जनकश्चोपनेता च
यश्च विद्यां प्रयच्चति ।
अन्नदाता
भयत्राता पञ्चैते पितरः स्मृता ॥ ५६७
Janakashchopaneta ya yashcha vidyam
prayachchati ।
Annadata bhayatrata panchaite pitarah
smruta ॥
One who gives birth, one who initiates, one
who educates, one who provides food and one who protects from fear are the five
considered akin to a father.
लोके सुखं
परजनाय हितोपदेशः ।
तद्वत्समाचरणमेव
परन्तु दुःखम् ॥ ५६८
Loke sukham parajanaya hitopadeshah ।
Tadvatsamacharanameva parantu dukham ॥
In this world, giving advice to others on
being wise is
easy, but to follow one’s own advice is
very difficult.
परभाग्योपजीवी च षडेते नित्य दुःखिता ॥ ५६९
Eershi ghruni na santushtah krodhino
nityashankitah ।
Parabhagyopajivi cha shadete nitya dukhitah
॥
An envious person, an abusive person, a
discontented person, an angry person, a suspicious person, one who is dependent
on others: these six types will always be unhappy.
अनाहूतः प्रविशति
अपृष्टो बहु भाषते ।
अविश्वस्ते विश्वसति
मूढचेता नराधमः ॥ ५७०
Anahutah pravishati aprushto bahu bhashate ।
Avishvaste vishvasati mudhacheta naradhamah
॥
One who barges in without being invited, talks
a lot without being
asked, trusts untrustworthy people, is a
foolish and lowly person.
