Sarve kshayanta
nichyah patanantah samucchrayah ।
Samyoga viprayoganta
maranntam cha jivitam ॥
All things will
ultimately get destroyed, what rises comes down.
All unions end
in separation, all lives end in death.
Tatvajnasya trunam shastram virasya
samarastrunam ।
Viraktasya trunam nari nihspruhasya nrupastrunam
॥
For a realized person, sastras mean
nothing, for a warrior a battle is nothing.
For a recluse, a woman is nothing, for a
person without desires a king is nothing.
Suryam prati rajah kshiptam svachakshushi
patishyati ।
Gurum prati kruta avajna sa tatham tasya bhavini
॥
Dust thrown towards the sun would fall in
one’s own eyes.
Insult shown towards one’s teacher would
have the same effect.
Prayena khalu mandanamamarshajvalitam manah
।
Yasminvastuni tatkirya tadvisheshena
dahyate ॥
The mind of a dull headed person burning
with anger about something,
gets further inflamed when reference is
made to that object
Anandabashparomanchau yasya svechchavashamvadau
।
Kim tasya sadhanairanyaih kinkarah
sarvaparthivah ॥
Why would a person whose tears of joy and
goose-pimples
are in control need other deeds. All kings
will be his servants
