उक्त्वानृतं भवेद्यत्र प्राणिनां प्राणरक्षणम् ।

अनृतं तत्र सत्यं स्यात्सत्यमप्यनृतं भवेत् ॥ ३११

Uktvanrutam bhavedyatra praninam pranarakshanam ।

Anrutam tatra satyam syatsatyamapyanrutam bhavet ॥

When a lie is uttered to save lives of beings, the lie becomes the truth.

When a lie has become the truth, truth which can hurt becomes a lie.

रमणीयोऽपि देशः सुभिक्षः क्षेम एव च ।

कुदेश इति विज्ञेयो यत्र क्लेशैर्विदह्यते ॥ ३१२

Ramaniyo api deshah subhikshah kshema eva cha ।

Kudesha iti vijneyo yatra kleshairvidahyate ॥

A country which is pleasant, prosperous and safe has to be called

a bad country if fires of bad vices are raging in it

यथा वृक्षस्य संपुष्पितस्य दूराद् गन्धो वाति ।

एवं पुण्यस्य कर्मणो दूराद् गन्धो वाति ॥ ३१३

Yatha vrukshasya sampushpitasya durad gandho vati ।

Evam punyasya karmano durad gandho vati ॥

Just as the scent from a tree full of flowers can be felt from a distance

So can awareness of good deeds done be realized from afar

उपायेन जयो यादृक् रिपोस्तादृङ् न हेतिभिः ।

उपायतोऽल्पकायोऽपि न शूरैः परिभूयते ॥ ३१४

Upayena jayo yadruk ripostadrung na hetibhih ।

Upayato alpakayo api na shuraih paribhuyate ॥

One can win over enemies by cleverness even without weapons.One who

is clever even though weak bodied is not conquered even by a strong enemy

यः समुत्पतितं क्रोधं क्षमयैव निरस्यति ।

यथोरगस्त्वचं जीर्णां स वै पुरुष उच्यते ॥ ३१५

Yah samutpatitam krodham kshamayaiva nirasyati ।

Yathoragastvacham jirno sav ai purusha echchate ॥

One who can get rid of the inner rage with forbearance, just

Like a snake which casts off its skin, is called a real man.
