Vishasapyamrutam grahyam baladapi subhashitam
Amitradapi sadrutam amedhyadapi kanchanam

One can get nectar even from poison, subhashita from a child.
Good behavior even from an enemy and gold from filth.

Ekaki jayate prani hyoko yati yamantikam
Eko bhramed bhavaranyam chaiko bhunkte dukham mahat ||

Alone a being is born, alone does he die. Alone he
wanders in the worldly forest, alone he endures great sorrow.

Jamaturvakrata tavadyavachchayalasya balata
Prabuddhamatre saralyam pravruddhe asmin palayanam

The crookedness of the son-in-law is only as long as his brother-in-law still a child. As he grows up and becomes aware, son-in-law begins to behave
and when he is fully grown up, son-in-law’s crookedness runs away.

Arakshitaram nrupatim brahmanam chatapasvinam
Dhanikam chapradataram deva ghnanti tyajantyadhah

A king who does not protect, a brahmin who is not austere, a rich man
who does not give money, all these are killed by Gods and sent to hell.

Panamakshastatha narya mrugaya gitavadinam
Etani yuktya seveta prasange hyatra doshavan

Be careful in enjoyments such as drinks, dice, women,
hunting and music. Addiction to these produces evil
